Wise words

You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.

You can close your eyes and wish that he would come back,
or you can open you eyes and see all he has left.

Your heart can be empty because you cannot see him,
or it can be full of the love that you shared.

You can remember only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.

You can cry, close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love, and go on.

What beautiful words. It's easy for me to nod my head and feel their wisdom, but I have not felt the depth of your pain and loss. I hope those words soothe your souls a bit. Praying for you and thanking God for Noah's life. Linda

Wow, what a beautiful reminder of how precious life is and of how our own mindset dictates our resilience. You never cease to amaze me. Thank you for sharing.

That poem was written by David Harkins. I certainly didn't want to claim writing it, but I guess I included that in a note to you sometime. (I certainly don't write that well!) I believe it has touched me a different times in my life.
